1. Western Washington University is a public research university in Bellingham, Washington, United States.

2. The main campus is situated on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, who have lived in the Salish Sea basin, all throughout the San Juan Islands and the North Cascades watershed.

3. The university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, sciences, business and engineering.  

4. The campus is spread across a 645-acre site, with the main university buildings located on the south edge of Bellingham.  

5. The university also has a satellite campus in Everett as well as several international campuses and online programs.  

6. As of fall 2018, WWU had 14,248 students and a student/faculty ratio of 18:1.  

7. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
